Start with the reason for trimming
Are branches crowding a driveway, reaching toward a roof or limiting the use of a patio? Describe the problem you want addressed instead of simply asking for a smaller tree. Sunny Days reviews tree-work requests in Port St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast, including trimming and cleanup. The scope should identify the specific tree and the area you want reviewed.
Trimming and removal are different requests
If you want to keep the tree, say so in your request. If you are considering complete removal, mention that separately. A photograph alone does not establish whether a tree is healthy or structurally sound. For a health or risk assessment, seek a qualified arborist; this page does not claim that Sunny Days provides certified arborist assessments.
What to include in your estimate request
- A wide view of the tree from a safe location.
- The roof, driveway, fence or other area affected by the branches.
- Access through gates or side yards and any nearby utility lines.
- Whether you want cut material hauled away or left in an agreed area.
There is no need to climb the tree or approach a hanging limb to take photos. Describe any obstacle you cannot safely photograph. If branches are touching electrical equipment or lines, contact the utility and keep clear.
Agree on the work before scheduling
Ask which branches or clearance areas are included, how cleanup is handled and what access is needed. A request to trim a tree is not automatically permission to remove it. Record the intended result so the estimate and your expectations match.
Pruning guidance
UF/IFAS explains proper tree pruning and recommends qualified help when the work is beyond the homeowner's skills. Avoid treating heavy cutting as a guarantee against future storm damage.
For a trimming-only request, call Sunny Days and explain that you want to keep the tree. The trimming scope will be reviewed before work is agreed.
